A church in Ilion also got in the Thanksgiving spirit; preparing,
serving, and packaging meals for those in need. Volunteers from Catholic
Charities and the Church of the Annunciation spent their afternoon
serving meals to dozens of Ilion, Frankfort and Schuyler residents. The
parish auditorium was open from 12pm to 2pm for anyone who wanted to
come in for a hot meal and some good company.
"It makes you feel good to see these people be able to come in and you can do something for them. Most of them sit home alone and can't do for themselves so you just feel good to come out and be able to help them," says George Calicchia, Church of the Annunciation volunteer.
And volunteers say they served about 200 people today.
