Sarah's Pet Pantry: How to donate

Instead of donating canned goods for the holidays, an area pet pantry is
accepting donations to help owners take care of their pets.
Sarah's Pet Pantry in Holland Patent started over two years ago to provide pet food to people who were eligible for the food bank.
Those who come to the pet pantry are given enough food for two weeks for their dog or cat.
Volunteer, Lynne Swartz says the pet pantry is an initiative to keep owners from putting their dogs in shelters.
"It's helping people by helping their animals, and everybody know when you're in a bad frame of mind, whether it's by the economy or the weather, there's nothing more comforting than a pet," said Swartz.
Those who are part of Sarah's Pet Pantry say they hope this sparks more ideas around the area to start similar organizations.
If you are interested in donating to the pantry, or volunteering contact Lois Reed at 315-896-6372.
Sarah's Pet Pantry is located in Holland Patent at The First Presbyterian Church.
