For some, winter has finally arrived in Central New York. The first day of the season was marked by snowfall. Unfortunately the snow has also come with some damaging, heavy winds.

Just take a look at this home on Jeanette Drive in North Utica. Sometime this morning or late last night, an uprooted tree blew over, smashing onto the home's roof. As you can see, it caused quite a mess and some damage. And it was quite a surprise for one next door neighbor.

"Well, I got up this morning and went to go get the newspaper and when I looked to the right to the house next door, I noticed the tree was toppled over.  When I saw that this morning, I said thank god that it didn't come this way, you know?" says Michael Ortiz, next-door neighbor.

Fortunately, Ortiz says nobody lives in the home. He says the owners moved out about 3 weeks ago.
