The hospital is providing a "Household Sharps Disposal Program."
This lets people bring sharps and needles from their homes to the medical center to be destroyed.
Officials say they just need to be in a puncture-proof container, and this concept is all to keep things safe.
"You never know who's going through your trash. Some trash is valuable today. The gentlemen who pick up the trash and the landfill people, you don't want to have them exposed or punctured or poked with a needle," said James Getter, Director of Hospital Services and St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
The sharps and needles can be dropped off at the Hospital Services Department Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.
