The Town of New Hartford is one step closer to having a new restaurant in the area.

The New Hartford Planning Board voted unanimously to grant the final approval in building an Olive Garden on Commercial Drive.

Although no one voted against the approval, before the final vote there were some questions and concerns about traffic and parking when the restaurant is eventually built.

In addressing some of those concerns, the town attorney says they're going to be combining parking lots.

"As a requirement, our planning board required that there be access through the adjoining part, so which currently houses Gentleman's Warehouse, we felt it would be easier getting in and out to share that common access point on Commercial Drive," said Herbert Cully.

As for the official date of when construction is set to begin, the developer tells eyewitness News he was not able to release that information.
