You might recognize them from "America's Got Talent."

The group Lightwire Theater has performed all over the country and even in parts of the world, and now they are bringing their creativeness to New Hartford.

"We use this medium called elector-luminescent wire, which is kind of like half cooked spaghetti that glows in the dark, so it's kind of like nothing you've ever seen unless you've seen us or a few other groups using this medium, said tour manager and performer, Stephen Nicholson.

The group is scheduled to perform on Saturday, but elementary students the New Hartford Central School District got a first look at "The Ugly Duckling and the Tortoise and the Hare" performance.

"I'm expecting it to be really colorful and cool," said second grader, Carly Pimpinella.

With laughter from the audience heard throughout the show, Nicholson says it's the audience reactions that make the performance.

"In live theater you hear those kids, when they go no it's behind you!.... When we're on stage we hear those things and really it's a lovely experience," said Nicholson.

And as a Syracuse native, Nicholson says it's great being back in familiar territory.

"It's great, cold, but great!" he said. "It feels like home."

Lightwire Theater will be performing at the Dr. James A. Meyer Community Performing Arts Center in New Hartford (Inside Bradley Elementary School.)

General Admission is $10 and for MWPAI Members, the cost is $8.
