Utica Police: Two People Found Dead in Home on McVean Street

By: Elsa Gillis
Updated: February 6, 2013
Utica police say two people have been found dead at a home on 815/817 McVean Street in the city.  Police had surrounded the house for hours Wednesday night, as they believed a man they were looking for was hiding inside.  On Monday, police say Jerry McNair shot his ex-girlfriend in the back of the head.  While she is still alive, her condition is unknown at this point. Police say they thought McNair was hiding inside the home.   After making attempts to contact the man and any residents inside with no success, the UPD/New Hartford Emergency Response Team assisted by the Oneida County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team entered the home around 9:30 P.M.  That's when they found a deceased male and female.  Their identities are unknown at this point, and it is unclear if McNair is involved.  The investigation is ongoing.
