"Pass that bill right away," said President Barak Obama.
That was a message geared towards Congress to pass a $447 billion jobs package that will stimulate business hiring and consumer spending.
Tuesday night, President Obama addressed millions of Americans about the job market and the economic downfall.
President Obama's proposed jobs package promises to extend unemployment benefits as well as create jobs for teachers.
But, one Utica man says we need to create jobs somewhere else.
"We need manufacturing in this country. That's all gone... it's gone over seas and it seems to be cheaper, but hopefully that will change," said Joe Pecorello.
The proposed package also calls for saving jobs for law enforcement, firefighters and construction workers.
Yet, 28-year-old Brandon Fleming says the government needs to just let it be.
"Let it be on its own. It's like a teenager. They are going to have their rough years and you're going to try all these interventions with them and monitor them with their internet chat sessions. But, normally if you leave a kid alone, they grow up in society and they turn out fine."
Fleming, who once was laid off also says unemployment is a cycle, saying we are always going to have highs and lows.
The President's Address comes as unemployment remains lodged at just over nine percent with no new jobs reported in August, raising fears of a possible return to recession.
