The Oneida County Board of Elections was abuzz today as people came in last minute to register to vote and poll workers picked up what they're going to need for tomorrow's events.  In Oneida County, the Special Election starts at 6AM, but the Primaries begin at noon, so it's important to know when you need to be there.

Democratic Election Commissioner at the Oneida County Board of Elections Carolann Cardone says if you fall into the 116th district (Utica, Rome, Marcy, Floyd, and Whitestown) and also qualify for a primary in those election districts, she suggests voting any time after noon, so you don't need to go vote twice. Cardone says you only qualify to vote in a primary if you are a registered voter for the party you are voting on.  She says to make sure you're registered before showing up to the polls.

For Herkimer and Otsego counties, polls are open from noon until 9PM.  For some people, the election is just bringing too much confusion.  "A system at different times is totally ridiculous.  It should be held at one time," says Utica Resident Harry Houghton.  But resident Bernard Palmer thinks that while it might limit some people from coming out again, for the most part, if people want a certain candidate in office, the timing issue won't stop them.

To find out where you need to go to vote, be sure to visit the New York State Board of Elections Website at http://www.elections.state.ny.us. The Otsego County Board of Elections wants to make it clear that the Town of Worcester will be voting at the Worcester Fire Department, Also, the Town of Unadilla polling location has been moved to the Public Library at the Community House.
