According to GasBuddy.com, New York State is one of the highest in gas prices in the country.

Pump prices are more than twenty cents above the national average.

It's a fact that has got one local resident calling the cost to fill up his tank, ridiculous.

"I think the prices, they are outrageous, they should come down at least a dollar, this is killing the economy completely," said Frank Raspante, a Rome resident.

In the nation, Hawaii and California have the highest gas prices.

South Carolina is the lowest at around $3.37.

Residents of New York still hope to see gas prices go down from the current average of $3.86
