Voters Speak Out on Election Day

            Voters in Central New York came out today to show their American pride and exercise their right to vote.  Every voter we spoke with was very passionate about the election process.  "Thank God it's still one of our freedoms," said Utica resident Christina Sykes.  "It's everybody's duty to vote," said resident Peter Walchusky.

            Poll inspectors say that some people were still confused about the timing for the Special Election and the Primary, but for the most part people understood what was going on.  Last year was the first year with the new machines, and in Oneida County, there were a lot of issues. This year, voters and poll inspectors alike agreed that the system was running a lot smoother and quicker. "Everyone seems to know what they have to be doing, and if they come in and they don't know we just instruct them on the process," said poll inspector Adelaide Foresti. 

            And for those out there who don't think going out to vote is a big deal, one voter reminds us that not everyone has this right. "This is what we fought for," says Joe Rositano. "Many people around the world cannot vote.  We here in America are very fortunate that we have a choice of who represents us."
