Munson-Williams Art Institute in Utica is set to host a new exhibit this weekend.  The museum is set to unveil its Ansel Adams masterworks exhibition Saturday, September 17th.  Curator of the museum Mary Murray describes Adams as a towering figure in 20th century American Photography.  The collection on display is what Adams considered his best work, what he called his 'museum set' before his passing in 1984.  Murray says Adams is known for his landscapes, Particularly of Yosemite National Park.  However, she believes museum-goers will be pleasantly surprised by his portraits and still-lifes on display as well.  "He really believed that photography of this subject, particularly of Yosemite national park, could be something of a spiritual uplift for people to view," she says. "So i think that people will find it a really rewarding experience."  Murray says the photographs range from work Adams completed from the 1930s to the 1960s.  She describes his work as having crisp clarity.

This is also the last weekend for the Wedded Perfection Exhibit.  Visitors can see both for the price on one.
