The Utica College Women's Soccer team opened up conference play tonight against the Hartwick Hawks. The Pioneers lost a thriller last year in overtime to The Hawks. This year Utica entered their second night game ready to play. Back and forth they went. Trading punches like heavyweight boxers. Each bending but never breaking. " We've been in some tight games this year which has definitely helped, we have a lot of returners and transfers that have stepped on with great experience, I think one of the huge things is we were in a situation where we came from behind tonight." Last years' loss in Oneonta was on the Pioneers minds tonight and senior Chelsea Way knows what a win like this means to the team. "Opening up conference play we want to go in with three points to start off the bat. So very big, big rival good to get a win. " Winning is never an exact since, so in the end you keep it simple. "We're just gonna play as hard as we can, and bring everything we have to each game and hopefully it goes good from there." Utica has this weekend off but will resume play next Wednesday against nationally ranked Ithaca College.
