Congressman Richard Hanna announced today that New York State residents who have been impacted by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee can get free legal help through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Disaster Legal Services program.  Any person who does not have the means to hire a lawyer is eligible. The legal services can help with anything from FEMA benefits claims to civil rights issues that arise from these types of disasters.  If interested in the legal aid, you can call the Disaster Legal Services Hotline at 1-800-342-3661. The service is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
