Different ages, different skill levels, different schools. Yet one sport and one program have lacrosse players from across the Oneida area sharing one court. The Oneida Indian recreational lacrosse league has opened it's doors to area players and player turnout has led recreation supervisor Brian Conners to expand it's current run through the winter. Conners said "We're gonna go right through, right now we're just running scrimmages through October but we're going to continue through February. So it's going to be a long, long run, hopefully the guys, I can see them improving every day."
Conners provides skill, drills and instruction to his players, and plenty of opportunity to scrimmage. The league is geared towards 12-15 year olds and Conners likes to remind everyone that the program is free, all players are required to bring is their own equipment.
