It's officially been a month since Apollo has been adopted by his owner, Eileen Roberts.

She says she is happier than ever with her new addition to the family.

It was around nine months ago when the Pit Bull mix, Apollo, was found nearly frozen to death.

"This dog was on death's doorstep, and day by day, week by week, we watched the progress of Apollo getting stronger, getting better, and more socialized," said Jerry Kraus, the Public Relations and Marketing Director at Stevens-Swan Humane Society.

Now, months later after a lot of tender loving care by the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, Apollo has found somewhere to call home.

His owner, Eileen Roberts says she was not even looking to adopt at the time, but that all changed after laying eyes on Apollo.

"I just came in and met him, and fell in love with him the first time I saw him," said Roberts.

Since bringing home her new addition, Eileen says Apollo has been nothing but wonderful. She says she has loved getting to know her new furry friend.

"He's a lover, he loves to kiss, he wants to be close and he likes to play with stuffed animals," said Roberts.

She says he is quiet and good at home, and is an all around good guy.

Not only is this rewarding for Eileen, but for the Stevens-Swan Humane Society as well.

"It's a great day for us because it's another success story we can point to and say look at how these animals do better when they're given tender loving care," said Kraus.

Eileen says that she had no problems with Apollo since bringing him home. He has even become buddies with her other dog at home.

She also says that adopting Apollo has been quite a fulfilling experience.

The Stevens-Swan Humane Society is always looking for those happy endings and success stories.
