It's been an ongoing investigation with Shadow, The German Shepard who was shot and killed back in August.

Retired State Trooper, Anthony Randazzo has been indicted.

Randazzo's attorney, Les Lewis says his client has been indicted and will be arraigned soon.

The indictment could be positive news for Shadow's owner, Bernard Sperfeld.

But for him, it's far from over.

"I'm still suffering, depressed, and I look at Shadow's pictures and I think on all the good times we had and it's even worse," said Sperfeld.

Bernard's best friend was taken right before his eyes on the night of August 24th.

He says retired State Trooper, Anthony Randazzo fired shots at his dog Shadow when he was running down the hill.

Sperfeld says his dog was shot after an altercation he had with a woman the night before.

Lewis says his client fired the shots out of self-defense when the dog was coming at him.

He said it was an instant reaction to a dangerous situation with the dog.

The case was presented to a grand jury on Wednesday, and Randazzo has now been indicted.

For Sperfeld, this is what he had hoped for.

"I hope for an indictment. I want his pistol permits gone, that's number one. I want his police badge gone and I want order of protection," said Sperfeld.

Lewis was not happy with how things played out yesterday with the grand jury.

"I was disturbed at some of the comments that were coming from some of the members of the grand jurors with regards to how they perceive things. I don't anticipate the result is going to be favorable to my client as far as the grand jury result is concerned," said Lewis.

Lewis had reason to be disturbed by what he heard from the grand jury, as his client is set for arraignment on Friday, October 21.
