Vistors are spending more money in Central New York. That's according to a recent study released by Empire State Development and "I Love New York."
The Division of Travel and Tourism reports that visitors spending in Oneida County increased almost 8 percent in 2010.
Kelly Blazosky, the President of Oneida County Tourism says this comes as good news. She says in 2009, visitors spending took a dip due to the economy.
"Travel in the United States used to be a luxury. And it's really transitioned into a right. We all want to preserve our vacation time. We all want to get away. It's not a week long or 10 day vacation anymore. It's the short 3 to 4 day get away," explained Blazosky.
Kelly says they are anxious for this winter season. She says visitors' spending will all depend on the snowfall.
