The investigation is on-going, but the Oneida County Coroner tells Eyewitness News the name of the victim is Ariadna Tarnowski.
While the Whitesboro Fire Department has determined it was a large catastrophic house explosion, they have yet to find a cause. The fire has been ruled unintentional.
The explosion killed the home's resident, Ariadna Tarnowksi, who was found in the debris this weekend. The Whitesboro Fire and Police Departments, along with State Fire Investigators, were continuing to filter through the debris up until today. At this point however, the investigation has been turned over to the homeowner's insurance company.
The fire department says the company will most likely send the home's water heater, furnace, and electric panel are out for examination.
Eyewitness News spoke with a next door neighbor, who is dealing with structural and fire damage to her home as a result of the explosion. She says it was horrific. "I was in the cellar and I ducked because I didn't know if the ceilings were coming down or what," says Gail Greco, "it was just terrible, I don't even know how to describe it."
Debris from her neighbor's home flew all the way over the her yard. She says her power and gas has been turned off as the investigation continues.
An autopsy was scheduled for today.
