The Veteran Expo took place at the Utica National Guard Armory today. Over 100 service providers were on sight to assist and answer questions for veterans and their families. The goal of the expo is to create a one stop shop to take care and get services to veterans.
Vet Expo committee member and veteran of the war in Iraq spoke with us about the great importance of this event. "I was in the first invasion of Iraq, and when I came home, things like this weren't going on. When I came home there was nothing available, there were no jobs, I struggled," says Michael Sportello. "It lets the veterans know that we care, that there are resources out there and available."
Everything from Working Solutions to help with job opportunities to the Food Bank of Central New York were present.
