We are one day closer to the November 8th Elections.

Eyewitness news spoke with the candidates running for Mayor of Rome.

Conservative candidate, Joe Fusco and current Mayor James Brown both spoke on the biggest issue they'd like to address to voters.

"I want to address the budget. I'm going to sit down with the department heads the day after the election and start going over it so that I have the knowledge and information I need to work on this budget," said Fusco.

Fusco says another main issue on people's minds is jobs.

He says they have to start working a lot closer with local development agencies.

"The main issues we need to focus on are economic development, community revitalization and continued financial stability. We have cleared up several vacant or contaminated parcels that are now ready or nearly ready for new construction, we have and are continuing to build on the success of our Main Streets and beautification initiatives," said Mayor Brown.

And just a reminder that the last day to mail in absentee ballots is November 7th.

Mayor Brown is the clear choice. His expertise in business has shown as our city is second to none. He has, under extreme economic times, kept our taxes low and still maintained all the services needed. Can we afford a change? NO! absolutely not! Fellow Romans use your vote wisely and like me, vote for the only proven candidate, Mayor Jim Brown!
