On Monday night, over a hundred people turned out for a presentation on the topic from Dr. Anthony Ingraffea in Clinton.
Dr. Ingraffea's main purpose was to give the public education on the issue of unconventional extraction of gas from shale formations.
"The actually process of hydraulic fracturing is neither bad, nor good. The kind of hydrofracking associated with activities necessary to get gas out of a shale formation is what I'm trying to inform people about, and what I think creates a high risk then previous gas and oil developments in New York State," said Dr. Ingraffea.
The presentation also included a question and answer period where people could voice any questions they had for Dr. Ingraffea.
