Aspiring Entrepreneurs get helpful tips in business planning

Many people might have the dream of owning their own business, but don't know where to start.
On Tuesday night, a small business start up forum took place to help those future entrepreneurs for tips.
Dawn Kaminsky has a local business that she has been trying to get going.
But before she opens up her doors, Dawn wants to makes sure she's taking the right steps.
"This is a great opportunity for me to establish that and by getting tips and ideas from what they have to offer me, that's just a great way for me to get my business started," she said.
Community Affairs Specialist, Gene Allen says he is always looking for ways to help improve the Cornhill Neighborhood.
For Tuesday night's meeting, Allen put together a small business development forum to help the aspiring business owners.
"We'll have all the experts in one spot at one time for a one stop shop for anyone who wants to start up their own business," said Allen.
But, opening up a small business doesn't happen overnight.
"With any venture, planning is important, and planning and putting a small business plan together is important," said Brian Thomas of The Urban and Economic Development.
Dawn says opening up a small business isn't just about herself, it's also a gain for her neighborhood.
"I'm looking forward to hiring employees and establishing the area to have a community where they have some kind of opportunity to grow," said Dawn.
Dawn says she hopes to have her business up and running in June of next year.
