State Police Seize Over $10,000 Worth of Heroin in Utica Drug Bust

On December 28, over $10,000
worth of heroin and more than $4,000 in cash were seized in multiple homes in
the City of Utica.
The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, NYSP Special
Operations and Response Team and the Utica Police Department executed multiple
search warrants at homes on the 900-block of Shaw Street and the 1600-block of
Howard Avenue in Utica.
Dog control responded to Shaw Street to tranquilize a vicious Rottweiler that
was guarding the heroin.
Carlos N. Silvagnoli, 39 and
Rachel Aviles, 38, both of Shaw Street were arrested for criminal possession of
a controlled substance with intent to sell.
34-year-old Aaron T. Ware was also arrested for absconding from parole from the
Bronx area. He was turned over to State Police and will return to state prison.
