It took two races, a pair of school records and four days, but Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton’s 1,600-meter girls relay team finally made it to the state meet.

This despite finishing second in a race-off against Waverly on Monday at Union-Endicott.

To catch up, B-G/A and Waverly finished in a dead-heat Friday in the 1,600 relay at the Section Four State Qualifiers at U-E. Bears coach Robb Munro and Waverly coach Scott Baird agreed Friday the race was too close to call, so they submitted both teams for the state meet.

Both teams finished in 4 minutes, 4.76 seconds Friday, which was a school-record time for the Bears. Full story at the Daily Star.
