by John Pitarresi -UTICA — Sam Constantino has stepped down as executive director of the Utica Boilermaker Road Race organization, just weeks after accepting the position.
Race founder Earle Reed will take over the job's duties on an interim basis. Those duties include seeking race sponsors and improving the fortunes of the National Distance Running Hall of Fame.
A news release faxed from Trainor Associates, the race's public relations agency, said it was "mutually agreed" that Constantino would leave the $60,000-a-year post that he'd spoken about with great enthusiasm on the day his appointment was announced in mid-June. Full story at UticaOD.com
