Tri-City Lacrosse league enjoys 'best year ever'

ROME — The spectrum of lacrosse players that
filled a half-dozen fields in Griffiss Business & Technology Park
over the weekend varied in age, gender, race and hometown.The thing the members of the Tri-City Lacrosse league shared was a fondness for the game that may truly be America's oldest pastime.
"It's a constant moving sport," youth director Andy Farrell said. "Unlike other sports where there's movement in spurts, this keeps you going all the time. So, it's a good aerobic activity."
Farrell was there when Tri-City Lacrosse was started as an adult league in 1983 and has overseen its growth into the spectacle its season culminated in Saturday. There are eight divisions with kids from 3rd to 11th grade split into boys and girls divisions. Full story at UticaOD.com
