CSC II, III all-stars well-represented by area players

by Todd Dewan - Section III Class D baseball champion Oriskany had three players selected to the first-team Center State Conference Division III all-star squad selected by league coaches.
Representing the Redskins, who went 17-6 overall and 8-2 in the division, were senior Mike St. Thomas and juniors Jeff Sergott and Mike St. Thomas. Sergott was also named to the state Class D second-team.
Westmoreland, which went 14-7 overall and won the CSC Division III with a 9-1 mark, had four players on the first team. They were seniors Dan Barns, Reuben Santiago and Kevin VanSlyke and junior Andy Munn. Barns was also the league’s most valuable player.
Other first-teamers included Dan DeKalb, Brent Fulmer and Bill
Smith, all of West Canada Valley; Matt Martin and Mark Vaughan, both of
Hamilton; Morrisville-Eaton’s Dan Osier and Nick Sovocool of Richfield
