"We love each other, we're like a family." By nature sports combines many different personality types. And it's often the chemistry of those personalities that can create mayhem or mesh. This year the team meshed and they knew this year would be special right from the get go. Senior Attack Michelle Varney says, "We definitely came out a completely different team than last year. We were a lot closer this year, we work as a unit this year instead of last year it was more individual. We came out really strong, especially against Anne Arundel, came out 10-11 and we had so much high hopes for this season." 5th year head coach Dianna Ste-Marie added, "It opened our eyes as to how good we could be, we just played the second half like I've never seen a lacrosse team play at Herkimer, it was just amazing and it just opened all their eyes that we were gonna be awesome."

Junior college programs often have a difficult time creating team chemistry given that players only spend two years with the program but this year Herkimer gelled and it even caught the eye of other teams on campus. Angie Rudy, senior midfield says, "It was on and off, like when we were on the field we were all talking, we were all hanging out. I mean, the softball team was even saying like we're just united and they envy the fact that we are that close."

When you become a Herkimer General the expectation is to become a champion but this year, they came up just short in the regional tournament. Senior Midfielder Kathleen McGovern says, "It's so disappointing but we still have a team, like we're still happy just to have got here, we played our hardest, we tried."
