Oneida County is getting national attention for a spelling error.

In the county's sample ballot, President Obama's first name is spelled incorrectly, with no "C" in Barack.

But, Republican Board of Elections Commissioner, Pamela Mandryck says the test ballots were proofed and entered correctly.

During the process, she says one that hadn't been proofed was incorporated in the ballot that was posted on their website.

"I don't think it's a big deal. His last name is right, so they made a mistake. Everybody can make a mistake, why is everyone making a big deal? Why is this national news when there is a war going on," said Utica resident, Liz Goddard.

Mandryck says the ballots have been corrected and official ballots are being made for the election.
