The town of New Hartford voted yes on its proposed budget tonight. With a nearly $14 million dollar spending plan for 2013, the board approved the budget 4 to 1. Tax rates will stay the same and the plan calls for a slight decrease in spending. But the town supervisor says he's not happy with the outcome - he says he wanted to see a tax decrease.

"Before taking office, the residents of the town of New Hartford were hit with a 45% tax increase. And over the last 3 years, I tried to give some of that back and I tried to do it this year but they wouldn't let me do it and that's why I voted no for the budget," says Pat Tyksinski, town supervisor.

He was the only board member to vote no. The 2013 budget will not include any major cuts or layoffs, and it will not use any of New Hartford's fund.
