Oneida County is looking at over 90 confirmed cases of the flu just within the past week.

The County Health Department spokesman, Ken Fanelli says cases are on the rise and officials are encouraging people to get their flu shot as soon as possible.

These numbers are different from last year's flu season, where the county didn't see the first confirmed flu case until late December.

Mr. Fanelli says many of the cases go unreported because a person doesn't seek medical attention, writing off the flu as a bad cold.

He says it can take up to two weeks to get your immune system back up to 100% after having the flu.
