Canastota and Oneida's rivalry still exists

Canastota and Oneida athletic teams have a long history of facing each other. In recent years the rivalry has taken a hit as the Raiders moved out of the Tri-Valley League and into the Center State Conference.

It won't be long before some of the programs butt heads, though, and Monday's practices saw student-athletes working hard to get ready for the contests. "I felt like I was wasting my high school career," Canastota's Mallory Winters said during a break at the girls tennis team's practice. "I've always danced, but that's just been for fun."  Full story at Oneida Dispatch.
