Strawberry Production Fell in 2012

    The production of a summer time sweet decreased in New York during 2012. The USDA announced that strawberry production in New York dropped 11% from last year. The Empire State ranks as the 8th highest in strawberry production in the country. However, the USDA says that New York increased blueberry production by 5%. And that was the trend nationally as well with nearly 500 million pounds of blueberries produced last year.
