Usually non-profits reach out to people and organizations asking for
donations and ways to better our community, but today one non-profit is
reaching out for another reason.
United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica area held its annual Day Of Thanks, recognizing organizations and companies for their donations, hard work, and overall contribution to the United Way throughout the year. Staff members and volunteers made visits to area companies showing their thanks with gift baskets.
"Today is a day just to say thank you and its a really rewarding experience. Over 150 companies actually run campaigns so each year we select 10 companies and staff goes out and personally visit them, thank the employees for giving through their campaigns, for volunteering for events throughout the year," says Brenda Episcopo, executive director United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica.
And in attempts to thank all their donors in one day, United Way staff members and volunteers also made phone calls and sent emails saying thanks to their donors.
