Little Falls Miners win opener 11-2

The Little Falls Miners opened the 2007 season with a 11-2 win over the Amsterdam Mohawks in front of 607 fans at Vet's Park.
James Donaldson (Northeastern) went 2-4 with a two-run homer in the first, and a two-run double in the eighth, to break the game open for the Miners.
Isaac Johnson (South Dakota State University) picked up the win in relief, pitching 4 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on three hits, while striking out three and walking one.
Nick Dimidio took the loss for the Mohawks.
Leading 4-0 in the bottom of the eighth, the Miners (1-0) broke the game open scoring seven runs, with Mike Augustine (Boston College) hitting a triple, Mark Ortega (Boston College) a double, and Donaldson a RBI double , making it 11-2.
The Miners play thier first road game Saturday (June 9th) at defending league champion Saratoga, and return home Sunday (June 10th) to host Watertown at 1pm.
