Little Falls Miners blanked in Glens Falls, 6-0

The Little Falls Miners four game winning streak was snapped Sunday night, as they were shutout in Glens Falls 6-0. The first-place Eagles have won eight straight games to improve to 12-2.
Glens Falls starting pitcher Alex Pepe (Florida Atlantic) pitched a complete game, 3-hit shutout. Pepe struck out 11 and walked only two in picking up his first win of the summer.
The Miners had the bases loaded in the top of the fourth, but failed to score. After that inning Pepe retired the last 10 Miners he faced.
The Eagles Broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth as Kevin Mahoney ( Canisius) led off with a triple, and scored on Rick Seltzer's (
Siena) RBI single. Daniel Cooke ( Gardner-Webb) had a RBI single, and Jake Owens ( Northwestern) had a sac fly in the fourth, making it 4-0 Eagles.
Owens finished with two hits.
In the bottom of the eighth Glens Falls tacked on two more runs on Dan DeGeorge's (Princeton) two run single, making it 6-0.
Miners (7-6) starting pitcher Dan Seip (Holy Cross, 0-2) took the loss, pitching four innings allowing four runs(two earned)on six hits, while striking out one and walking three.
James Donaldson (Northeastern), Luke Enman (St. Joseph's Maine), and Chris Kowalski (Boston College) had singles for the Miners. The Miners are 1-4 on the road.
Little Falls will host Glens Falls Tuesday (June 26th) at Vet's Park at 7pm. Tickets are $6 for adults, $2 for students and seniors.
