Glens Falls (13-2) scored six runs in the top of the third to win their ninth straight game, as Miners starting pitcher Isaac Johnson (2-1) pitched his shortest outing of the season- lasting only two innings, allowing six runs (all earned) on six hits, while striking out two and walking four.
In that third inning Jake Shaffer, and Joe Mercurio had two-run singles, and Luis Feliz added a RBI single for the Eagles.
With the Eagles up 6-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the Miners scored two runs, as Chris Kowalski had a RBI double scoring Richard Gonzalez, and Luke Enman had an RBI groundout, scoring Kowalski. The Miners left 12 men on base.
Glens Falls starting pitcher Barry Keifer (4-0) pitched six innings, allowing no runs on four hits, while striking out four and walking four.
Miners leading hitter Tom Edwards was hit by a pitch in the first inning, and left the game to get x-rays. The results have not come in as of press time.
The Miners (6-3 at home) return to action tomorrow night at Watertown for a 7pm game, then return home Thursday (June 28th) to face Saratoga at 7pm.
