VERNON — Local racing veteran Willy Decker has
done it again. The two-time defending Utica-Rome Speedway 358 Modified
Track Champion topped the best of Dirt Modified racing Wednesday night,
and did so convincingly. In an event to tribute the life of Lou Lazzaro, a longtime Utica racing legend who passed away in the spring of 2001, Willy Decker put his Tom Cullen owned No. 1x in Victory Lane for the fifth time of the season at Utica-Rome and his second consecutive Race of Champions Dirt Tour win. "I owe it all to this team, to pull off two in a row is just great," said Decker. After fending off New Jersey racing great Brett Hearn, Decker was all smiles after the 75-lap event.
