Players, coaches, fans and umpires converged at Union-Endicott’s Pete Sylvester Field on Monday, but nary a pitch was thrown.

The Class C state baseball quarterfinal between Section Three champion Cooperstown and Section Four champion Oxford was postponed about 15 minutes after its expected 4 p.m. start. The teams will try again at 4 p.m. today back at U-E, although more rain is in the forecast.

The National Weather Service website shows showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 p.m., followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Full story at the Daily Star.
