ROME — As a baseball player, Jason Simone has many tools.

In Adrean Post's 8-5 win over New Hartford Post, he showed at least three of them by making a big catch, showing his power with the bat and pitching his way to a save.

Behind a strong pitching performance by Kyle Tolman and timely team hitting, Adrean took a 7-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh of the second-round game in the District V American Legion Baseball tournament Thursday at DeLutis Field.

A.J. Bates started the seventh inning in relief of Tolman and allowed a leadoff walk to Mike Kennedy.
