As an athlete from a small school in Central New York, Robin Bumpus-Penoyer understands what it means for young athletes to learn from professionals.

Bumpus-Penoyer made a name for herself as a hard-throwing right-handed softball pitcher at Stockbridge Valley and later at a Division I university. Now a coach and professional player, Penoyer is drawing on her extensive experience to make the game's top athletes accessible to the area's amateurs.

Bumpus-Penoyer, the head coach at Morrisville State College, is also a member of the ProFastpitch X-treme Tour, a two-team 30-player league dedicated to uniting professional players with amateurs in weekend stops that include games, clinics and skills sessions.
