The first three innings belonged to Cooperstown’s Philip Pohl.

Oxford took over for the next three innings, setting up a seventh that couldn’t have been much more dramatic _ especially with a berth in the Class C state baseball semifinals on the line.

In the end, winning pitcher Steve Locke hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 state quarterfinal victory over the Section Three champion Redskins on Tuesday at Union-Endicott’s Pete Sylvester Field. Full story at the Daily Star.
