Oriskany's season comes to a close

By: Anne Delaney. Afton freshman Jessica Winans hit a pair of two-run home runs Tuesday against Oriskany to help the Crimson Knights defeat the Redskins, 5-1 in a Class D state regional final at BAGSAI Softball Complex in Binghamton.
Winans hit her first home run in the first inning to give Afton a 2-0 lead. Winans' second home run in the top of the seventh inning was the game breaker for the Crimson Knights, who advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state semifinals Saturday back at BAGSAI.
