One Utica resident is being recognized for her dedication for her
community. Kathy Hughes is the Pastor of a church in West Utica. After
years of hard work, she was honored this weekend with a "Certificate of
Appreciation" for her community service in the city. She says she's most
proud of helping in the revitalization of a nearby park.
"I did not just want to be a church in the community; we wanted to be a part of the community and so cleaning up the park and making sure the children have a safe place to visit. We want them to know the the west end of Utica is great community, and we're going to assist in building this community along with our council members," says Kathy Hughes, Deliverance First Ministries Church Pastor.
The Hirt Playground is open to the public everyday and it's right next to the Deliverance First Ministries Church on the 900 block of Sunset Avenue.
