By: Perry L. Novak. Day No. 2 was a lot like day No. 1 for Pat McLaughlin at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Track and Field championship.
That was a very good thing.
The Oneida sophomore held his ground against a talented field of pentathletes in Division I to take third place. While McLaughlin did not set any personal records Saturday - he had two in three events Friday - he was very close in both events and it earned him the second best finish by a Dispatch-area athlete for the weekend.
