Should Cooperstown ever need resident psychics, Philip Pohl and Frank Petroskey would be a good place to start.

"Pohl and Petroskey kept saying we’re going to states," said Frank Miosek, whose Cooperstown baseball team will make its second state-quarterfinal appearance in his 17 seasons as head coach at 4 p.m. today, when the Redskins meet Oxford at Union-Endicott. "I just kept telling them to take one game at a time, but they said, No coach, we’re going to go to states.’ "

Junior catcher Pohl and senior shortstop Petroskey, who captain Cooperstown (19-3) with senior third baseman Luke Banner, have had plenty to do with their prediction coming true. Full story at the Daily Star.
