The race for the 33rd Circuit Judge position resulted in a runoff. Current Geneva and Dale counties assistant district attorney Bill Filmore will face off against Ozark attorney Stuart Smith.

In Tuesday's election Filmore had the most votes with 48 percent of the vote.Smith finished second with 32 percent of the vote.Attorney Joseph Gallo came in third with 19.5 percent of the vote. The run-off is scheduled for April 24th.

Filmore's opponent in April's runoff is Stuart Smith.

Smith, who came in second last night,  said he plans to use the next weeks to get out in the community and meet more voters.

Smith said his experience makes him the best candidate for the circuit judge position, since he has handled criminal, civil, and domestic cases as an attorney.

Smith tells us he will continue to run a positive campaign and applauds his competitors for keeping this race about the issues.
