Preparation for the 16th "Ride for Missing Children" kicked off Monday evening and the countdown has officially started.

For one rider, this is his 15th year participating and says it's much more than just getting on a bike.

"Truly it's been an inspirational ride and an incredible experience, and I've met a tremendous amount of people," said 15-year-rider, Marc Ritter.

There are over 100 new riders this year and Chairman, Frank Williams says the community has given such dedication and spirit to the ride and organization.

"Going to the schools, and interacting with those kids, it's just a great part. Parents of missing children have come a long way to join us year in and year out because it is such an incredible event," said Ritter.

For Becky Eisenhut, riding to raise awareness for missing children will now always be a part of her lifestyle.

"I can't imagine never not doing it again. I will do it until I cannot function on a bike," said Eisenhut.

The 2012 "Ride For Missing Children" will officially take place Friday, May 18th.

Frank Williams says there are expected to be over 400 riders this year.
