New Marcy SUNYIT Parkway is now open to traffic

By: WUTR Staff
Updated: February 17, 2012

Commuters can now drive to the SUNYIT campus from the southwest entrance. The southern segment of the newly constructed Marcy-SUNYIT Parkway is open to traffic.

The former Edic Road had been closed since mid-2011 during construction of the $7 million project.

The Marcy SUNYIT parkway is a four lane divided county highway with two roundabout, a multipurpose trail, signage, street lighting, landscaping, drainage, and sanitary sewer.

Besides being an entrance to SUNYIT's campus, it creates access to the future Marcy Nanocenter at the college.

The northern segment is set to be closed until next week to complete street light installations.
